President's May Report

One of the better ways of assessing how a club is performing is to look closely not at its big picture vision such as hosting national or state events but by observing its 'everyday' practices (practices or activities which occur as a matter of habit and are never really planned consciously).

National Coaching Conference

The club will pay fees in full for 2 existing or aspiring coaches (1 from U6-9, and 1 from U10-17) to attend the forthcoming National Coaching Conference (refer below). However, the participants must write a brief report and conduct a 30 minute session with the club's junior coaches at the next coach's meeting.

ARU is pleased to announce a series of National Coaching Conferences to be held in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney on the Wednesday preceding each British & Irish Lions Test.
Qantas Wallabies Coach, Robbie Deans, is looking forward to opening each conference. “This is a great initiative and one that offers an unrivalled opportunity for coaches to up skill and learn from the best”.
The presenters will be a diverse mix of Qantas Wallabies, Super Rugby and National Academy Coaches, coaching consultants and sport specialists in the fields of Sport Psychology, Sport Science, Skill Acquisition, and Strength and Conditioning. A highlight of the conference will be the opportunity to interact with Classic Wallabies and Lions players in a Q-and-A style panel session.
The aim of the Program is to provide coaching development and education to all coaches from Pathway age groups through to Youth, Colts, Senior and High Performance levels.
Throughout the Conference, coaches will have access to a variety of Rugby and performance specific modules, such as advanced attack and defence, performance nutrition, latest recovery trends, and motivating the elite athlete.
Don’t miss out! Spots are filling fast.
The Brisbane conference will be Wednesday 19th June at the University of Queensland StLucia campus.
